Principal's Message

Principal’s Message

I am so thankful to be principal of Springbank Community High School. Ours is a wonderful school community that has a history of excellence and achievement. Our families recognize the value of a sound and well-rounded education and our staff is one of the most professional and committed groups of educators. In short, this is a special place to work and learn.

I want to encourage parents and guardians to reach out to me with your questions or concerns. While most parents understandably want to step back a bit when their kids go transition into high school. That need not be the case, though. Parents and guardians, working as partners in education, are a fundamental ingredient in student success – academic and otherwise. An important aspect of parent engagement is our school council, which meets on a bi-monthly basis. It is in those meetings that parents and guardians can learn more about what is happening in our school and can have a say in charting our course into the future. I take the advisory role of school council seriously and I have very much appreciated the feedback and thoughtful reflection that our committed group of parent volunteers on the council have provided. Regardless of whether a parent or guardian is able to attend school council meetings, I want to ensure that all know that I am accessible and available for an email, phone call or meeting.

Engagement is critical for success: students must be engaged in their learning, our staff must be engaged in continually developing their practice as the demands on them shifts and changes, and our families need the opportunity to engage as partners in education. When all of that comes together, you end up with a very special school community like we have here at SCHS.

I wish all SCHS families the best this year!
